Dane and Elizabeth Ferguson have proudly called Grand Forks, ND home for five years now.  Both Concordia College graduates of Moorhead, MN, they share the love of the written word and the art of films.  Elizabeth, a full-time elementary school teacher at Wilder Elementary School in Grand Forks, and Dane, an entrepreneur, want to share their passions with Grand Forks!  Since there was a great void of services of books and media, they came up with an idea together with the help of Dane's brother Taylor, and a business to serve the community was the result.

 

For people of all ages, the Fergusons guarantee they'll find what you're looking for!  With the attention to detail, commodities of free hot coffee on demand, and service second-to-none, people will have the option of shopping without feeling like they've left the comforts of their own home!  They welcome you with open arms and hope you will like what they have to offer!

 

Dane and Elizabeth are also proud parents of their 2 little boys Xander Dane, 3 years old, and Asher Jeremy 1.5 years old!  They are members of Calvary Lutheran Church.  Dane is an active member of the Grand Forks Chamber of Commerce and young professionals.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Taylor Schiller-Ferguson, "Sweat equity" owner and former general manager, has helped mold Ferguson Books where it is today.  With creative insight and professional manner, Taylor is dedicated to finding solutions for book shoppers.  Taylor has an impeccable sense of honesty and continues to go out of his way for his customers--even delivering books to shut-ins and giving donations to the local Salvation Army.  Taylor enjoys fishing, basketball, Minnesota Vikings, and the Chicago Cubs (don't worry...he even cheers for the Minnesota Twins!) He is the lead vocalist in rock band "State & Rush".  Recently in summer 2011, Taylor completed his certification of Peace Officer Training--very handy in times of crowd control at Ferguson's! He's a proud uncle of two, brother, and son.  He is now a peace officer in Harvey, North Dakota.  From time to time, Taylor still helps the business out. 

Hyrum Patterson grew up in the western United States calling Idaho and Arizona home. He went to college at Arizona State University where he received a B.A. in History, with an emphasis on Women's Studies. He recently completed his Master's Degree in Theatre Arts at the University of North Dakota. Hyrum worked for many years in retail positions; most of his jobs over the last eighteen years involved working with coffee, including almost seven years working for Starbucks Coffee Company. Life changed for Hyrum and his family when his wife Heather accepted a job at the University of North Dakota in 2009. The couple along with their son Albert relocated to Grand Forks, which is quite different from Phoenix. When he is not working he enjoys participating in theatre, gardening, reading books, and listening to music. 

 I LOVE books. There is nothing more wonderful than curling up with a superb story and conversely forgetting the world for awhile; as you immerse yourself in an amazing story! I am so happy about the opportunity I have every day to help others find books that will allow them to escape into their imaginations! I am very grateful that Dane and Elizabeth Ferguson have allowed me to become a part of their family, and help other readers find joy in "adopting" books, new, used or abandoned!
